Imagine looking out the window of your spaceship to see the beautiful sunrise on Mars. Right now this sounds ridiculous but maybe one day it will be a reality. Our inventions are literally being inspired by science fiction movies and books. We now hold electronics in our hand that once only existed in the most creative imaginations. The world isn't only making leaps and bounds in the technology industry. With better technology we are able learn so much more about all of the sciences. I think that we have started an exponential increase in all of the sciences that will take the world to places that even science fiction authors couldn't imagine.
It is crazy how much of the imagination of technology has become a reality just in our life times. It's pretty great that we can be a part of that innovation as Computer Scientists.

ReplyDeleteI love how SF and tech feed into each other, awesome tech inspires awesome stories about even cool tech--which ends up being made, and that in turn inspires even more stories. It's a pretty cool feedback loop.
