Smallish Post, due December 10

I think it is interesting that many companies and organizations feel a need to have a code of ethics. The content of these codes is generally good and every employee should follow it. This content is also almost exactly the same regardless of what kind of company or organization wrote it. I feel that almost everything within the code of ethics is generally common sense or is part of being a decent human being.I hope that one day we will no longer need to declare a code of ethics but live them for the sole reason that it is the right thing to do.

  1. That won't happen until we start living the code of ethics we already have. Too many people don't care about being decently human and are out for themselves. It is considered bad business to trust other people to keep their word. What a sad world we live in...

  2. Unfortunately, ethics need to be enforced. People are in business to get money and get ahead. Its what the business world revolves around. Ethics are tossed aside if it stands in the way of this goal.

  3. I don't think reminders are bad, that said, sometimes they can be trite and not make a difference. They need to be lived, but writing them down also has power.
